DIY Cooking Zoom Classes with Asia Society

DIY Cooking Zoom Classes with Asia Society

Spring is finally here!! While it does mean warmer and wetter weather in Hong Kong, it also marks one of the biggest holidays of the season: Easter. This Easter we held a couple of DIY Cooking Classes with the Asia Society Hong Kong Center. In partnership with the Singapore Association of Hong Kong, 2 classes that we created focused on the sweets and desserts that are common in Asian cuisines and how Hong Kong and Singapore have their own takes on the same dish.

During the first Zoom class on 2nd April, members learned how to make the similar yet different Singaporean Chwee Kueh and Hong Kong’s But Jai Go. Then the next day, they continued on to learn how to create their very own Singaporean Ondeh Ondeh and Hong Kong-style Lo Mai Chi. At the end of each classes the students got to try their creations with enough to share for their families.
